If you want to make a submission to Global South Development Magazine, please read the following instructions carefully.
- Any submissions that are made to GSDM must be somehow related to international development issues
- All submissions should be made by email to [email protected]
- Submissions can be of various genre, style, and lengths, such as:
- Articles and op-ed pieces (300-1200 words)
- Feature articles (1000-2500 words)
- News/News analysis
- Photographs/photo stories
- Short memoirs (500-800 words)
- Videos
- Each submission must have a title and should be accompanied with the author’s short biography (60-90 words) and a headshot (in high resolution)
- Please do not submit lengthy academic articles with a lot of academic references. They should be directed to an academic journal. GSDM is a magazine, and not an academic journal.
- If you are planning to submit a long feature article or traveling to cover a development story, we strongly recommend that you contact us in advance so that we can give you useful tips.

Since its establishment in 2010, GSDM has been an open platform for a wide range of development practitioners, freelance writers, journalists, community and NGO workers, and students from all over the world.
