EMILY CAVAN LYNCH, Country Correspondent (DRC)

Emily is a public health consultant and a freelance writer and photographer. Her Masters of Public Health has taken her to Rwanda and Haiti and her writing has kept her traveling all over the world. Emily covers all issues appealing to the curious but focuses particularly on human rights – especially women’s rights and justice reform – and on illuminating the potential of the impossible. She was previously based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and has now moved to the DRC, where she can be reached at emilycavan@gmail.com

MOHAMUD HASSAN, Country Correspondent (Somalia) 

Mohamud is a writer and was trained in the field of Communication. He moved to Finland in 2009 after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in communication and media technology from Maseno University in Kenya. Mohamud dedicates his time in advocating for the protection and advancement of children rights and is author of the blog Children of Somalia which focuses on the plight of children in Somalia. He has worked briefly at Opin Aika Projekti in Rovaniemi, a European Union funded program that offers education among other needs to young asylum seekers and refugees with no previous formal education background.
